Zallcom™ commenced operations with the incorporation
of Zallcom Pty Limited on the 1st March 2001.In June 2004 Zallcom CS
Pty Limited was incorporated to expand Zallcom’s services into
the software asset management consulting arena.
Zallcom’s business is to assist organisations, both Government
and Private, to get the most from their software assets. This is done
by providing services that include software procurement, centralised
Software Asset Management (SAM), software audits and software acquisition,
licensing advice and recommendations.
Software and software licence procurement, combined with Software Asset
Management is Zallcom’s core focus. Zallcom is a provider of software
from many of the world’s leading software vendors. Some of these
include Microsoft, Novell, IBM / Lotus, Adobe, Macromedia, Computer
Associates, Citrix, Symantec and Veritas. Our browser based Software
Asset Management (SAM) system, AboveBoard™, provides a portal
for centralised software management for its clients.
The AboveBoard application provides clients with a secure, single point
of record for all their software procurement history, licence history,
utilisation data, audit and management needs.
Zallcom also provides software audit and due-diligence services. These
services will auto-discover and monitor all software, local and remote,
launched throughout an organisations global network checking for vendors
utilised, software type/name, version /patch, frequency of use and last
used. This data will then allow Zallcom to reconcile software used against
licenses held to support licence negotiations with clear and accurate
reports for all the common types of licenses – single user, concurrent,
shared use, site licenses and custom limits and restrictions.
With such a targeted solution organisations can also increase the value
of Zallcom’s services by automatically exporting audit and usage
data tables to an external SQL server for easy integration with existing
corporate systems such as software deployment and helpdesk systems.
In addition Zallcom will be able to collect critical hardware information
useful for software deployment planning such as type, version and release
of operating system, clock-speed, total RAM, disks space/free space,
hardware serial number and MAC address.
Working with Zallcom provides IT managers with a complete up-to-the
minute picture of their organisations software inventory and accompanying
software licenses as well as critical hardware information. Zallcom
collects critical data about the dynamics of an organisation’s
IT infrastructure. The insight gleaned from this data collection and
management can bolster the effectiveness of internal IT security, systems
migration, IT Helpdesk support and software license negotiations.
